In these days the Czech Republic is commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Warsaw Pact 5 armies invasion to Czechoslovakia (started on August 21, 1968). The dream practically of all generations about democracy, justice, liberty and opening to the world revived by the Prague spring process was stopped by military force primarily guided by the Soviet Union leaders. A period called normalisation was started in step-by-step measures and for more than 20 years Czechoslovakia was obliged to continue in its existence as member of the socialist bloc.

Today we are discussing about the importance of the Prague spring for the Czech society development and about its various consequences for present generations.

It is necessary for the SKS (Czech Christian Seniors Association) members to present authentic testimonies of all those events drawing a special attention to the fact that the real democracy is not an automatically given situation and that it is even nowadays necessary to fight for it.
